Autosuspect children of children if their parents changed

Postby SamuelSorge » Wed Oct 19, 2016 9:03 am

Hi there,

I have a problem concerning the following scenario:
Work Item 1 is linked to Work Item 2 within a requirements specification document.
Work Item 2 is linked to Work Item 3 and Work Item 3 is located in a test specification document.

If Work Item 1 is changed, Work Item 2 gets a suspect notification (the Work Items are linked).
If Work Item 2 is changed, Work Item 3 gets a suspect notification (the Work Items are linked).

How can I achieve the following "workflow":
If Work Item 1 is changed, Work Item 3 gets a suspect notification (the Work Items are not linked).
Is this even possible in Polarion?

Thanks and regards,
JaWa

Hi
This is not doable by default, but you can write a workflow script to propagate suspect links from parent to children using workitem.doAutoSuspect() API , ex: requirement moves from approved to reopened, you run the workflow script marking desired links as suspect But warning does it make sense to mark all children as suspect when the top requirement changes, i don t think so, ex:
user req > 10 system reqs > 50 test cases > 100 defects.. do you want to all all the test cases marked as suspect ? and defects too
