How can I access local repository?

Postby jacky_106 » Sat Sep 09, 2006 9:37 am

Assume I have created a repository called /svntest and I can access it using file:///svntest. As the Subversive does not support file://, how can I access the respository?

Dear jacky_106,

We use JavaSVN library for SVN access. The current version of JavaSVN doesn't support file protocol. In order to work with your repository you should start svnserve or Apache servers and work through SVN or HTTP protocols. It's pretty easy to setup such environment - in particular to start svnserve you should execute:

Code: Select all

svnserve.exe -d -r drive:\path\to\repository

Please refer to excellent free SVN book for details: http://svnbook.red-bean.com/

Should be easy to implement

Hi,

It should be rather easy to implement this mode into javaSVN, using "svnserve --tunnel" and java.lang.Runtime.exec() or the new ProcessBuilder features.

Dear schabi,

We use different JavaSVN stream then 1.1.0.beta4. Our contains improvements like refactoring support, etc., but doesn't contain recent features from 1.1.0.beta4. As soon as JavaSVN 1.1.0 version will be released, we will ask JavaSVN authors to merge these changes to our stream.
