What the heck is a "revision link"?

Subversive has something called a "revision link". I'm not quite sure what it does or what it's intended for.

I can't find anything about this in the Subversion documentation. I assume it's something added by Subversive.

There is some mention in the architecture documentation that this adds some "meta information".

There's nothing in the user documentation, except on HOW to add a revision link. Great, now I know how to add one. But, why would I do so, and just what does it do?

I see that when I do so, it adds a link to the revision number under "ROOT" at the bottom of a project tree.

I'm a bit of a loss as to why I would want to do this. Is it just a convenient way of creating something like a tag, that I can access from the tree, rather than having to select a revision from history?

If so, why wouldn't I just use a tag? Is this supposed to be used in some way in conjunction with tags?

OK, so it's *not* just me!

OK, so I guess it isn't just me.

Nobody knows? Hello, developers - anybody remember what it's supposed to be for?
