Endless loop

Postby Mumpitzstuff » Wed Aug 22, 2007 8:40 am

I have the problem that i get a endless loop if i try to correct indentation on locked files. I can do the following to reproduce the problem:

1.) Open C/C++ project (CDT)
2.) Ctrl+A (select all)
3.) Ctrl+I (correct indentation)
4.) Subversive ask me to get a lock of the file and i click yes
5.) Endless loop and i have to kill Eclipse

If i do the same with an already locked file i do not have any problems.

My fault. I do not know why but the update from Subversive 1.1.5 to 1.1.6 reactivated the disabled Subclipse plugin. Now it works again.

Dear Mumpitzstuff,

I checked this situation with JDT and all works fine. So, the situation looks like CDT problem.

In order to avoid the problem please try following:
1) Update your CDT environment
2) If the problem still exists please use the recommendation:
"Please start eclipse with the -console switch which will give you the osgi console. Now when eclipse freezes up switch to the osgi console and press Ctrl-Break (Do not issue Ctrl-C since this will shutdown the console and eclipse) this will produce a thread dump in the osgi console which could give an indication on which threads currently are locked and on which object."

And send us a stacktraces which will be dupmped by Eclipse IDE. If the problem relates to Subversive plug-in we will solve it in one of future builds. Otherwise it should be reported to developers of the component which causes the problem.
Best regards,
Alexander Gurov
