Query expression as document content

Postby thomait » Tue Jun 25, 2019 9:48 am

The following szenario:

1. I filter a document with a specific expression.
2. I print the filtered document or export an PDF.

I am not seeing, that the generated output is filtered and how.

My wish:
I want to read on the document's title page what filter expression is applied for this generated output.

I've tried to insert an Wiki Content element: $pageParameters.query but this seems not to contain the query expression. How can I put the query expression as output to the document itself?`

Thanks for your support.

Hello, Thorsten

right now I see no way to do this automatically, without changing the programming of the document content.

Technically it seems that the content and the filter bar are shown in separate browser frames. The content frame has no information about the data of the filter frame. They are held together by something called polarion-dle-MainDockPanel. The query is hidden deep in the filter frame, while the content frame just shows the result of the filter.

Of course when the document is open, you can write the current filter into the document, but I think you need to do it manually. You could also write it into a document property and use that e.g. in a Word export.
