Table column width for LiveDoc Wiki Content

Postby govena » Fri Dec 07, 2018 9:25 pm

Hello,

I'm new to Polarion, but have been using it for a couple months now. I still consider myself a novice, but I'm learning quickly.

Objective:
LiveDoc with a table that contains custom fields or other dynamic information. Within that table I'd like to control the column width of any column independently.

Using:
> Polarion 17.3
> Build 3.17.3.20171208-2017

I've read the SyntaxHelp file at:
https://my-alm.com/polarion/#/wiki/Doc/SyntaxHelp

After reading this help file, I was able to create the following table successfully using the {table} macro, but it is missing the ability to control the column width.

Code: Select all

{table:header=no | border=yes | align=left | width=100%}
SOFTWARE NUMBER: | ABC123
RELEASE DATE: |
REVISION: | $document.getCustomField("docRevision").getId()
{table}

I came across the following post viewtopic.php?t=19038, which indicates I should be able to use HTML directly in the Wiki. After trying it without success, I realized this post was probably in reference to the legacy Wiki Doc, which is not a LiveDoc.

Questions:
1) Is there a way to use any combination of macros to control the column width of a Wiki Content item within a LiveDoc?

2) Is there a way to have a LiveDoc Wiki Content that can take HTML in addition to the Velocity syntax and properties?

Thank you in advance for your help. This is my first post!

Hello govena,

I am personally not working with the Wiki Markup. You can use HTML without any restrictions.

I have tested it and got the following result:

Image

Here is the Code I have put into the Wiki Content in LiveDoc:

Code: Select all

<table style="width:100%;">
  <tr align="center">
    <th style="width:20%">Header 1</th>
    <th style="width:30%">Header 2</th>
    <th style="width:50%">Header 3</th>
  </tr>
  <tr align="center">
    <td>Jill</td>
    <td>Smith</td>
    <td>50</td>
  </tr>
  <tr align="center">
    <td>Eve</td>
    <td>Jackson</td>
    <td>94</td>
  </tr>
</table>

<style>
table, th, td {
  border: 1px solid black;
}
</style>

Let me know, if that helped you :D

Kind Regards,
Steffen

Wow! I must have been asleep when I was trying to write my HTML table. Thank you for the example. This worked great for me. I'll work on some harder questions for my next post :oops: :lol:

Code: Select all

<table border="1" style="width:100%;">
  <tr align="left">
    <td style="width:45%">Number</td>
    <td>$page.name</td>
  </tr>
  <tr align="left">
    <td>Revision:</td>
    <td>$document.getCustomField("docRevision").getId()</td>
  </tr>
</table>

Thanks again!
