Branch whole project

Postby dbosman » Thu Aug 23, 2018 7:50 am

We have a project in Polarion of which we need to maintain 2 versions:

Scenario1 and Scenario2

Scenario1 is leading, Scenario2 will have some changes w.r.t. Scenario1.

A first idea is to create an SVN branch. Scenario1 would be trunk and Scenario2 a branch. Next we work on both projects and after some time we need to merge the updates on trunk (Scenario1) into the branch (Scenario2).

In Polarion the branches seem to work on document level. Is it possible to branch a whole project (including the possibility to merge the branches)?

Polarion does not use Subversion branching at all, not even for branching documents. "Branching" in Polarion is done by creating a new document and copying/referencing the stuff from the original.

Thus also the merging function is done manually, without subversion, and yes, it is only available for documents.
