How to get the Workitems in Excel through VBA

Postby harry314 » Thu Mar 02, 2017 5:38 pm

Hi,
We are working on some statistics generation, which takes data from multiple sources and requirement management tools.

This data is combined in Excel.

At present, we could collect the data in Excel through VBA for IBM Doors. We wish to do the same with Polarion, however could not get it working. We could also get the data from Polarion (workitems and some attributes) through Python using SUD, but now we need to do the same through Excel.

It would be of great help, if someone can put us in right direction.

Thanks
Harry

Few updates and further query:
Now with VBA we would connect with polarion and get the details, however its not very clean when it comes to custome fields and all other regular fields.

I think that the ReqIF-Export service could be much cleaner way wherein user can define and select the view (with set fields) for the export.

Is it possible to operate this service with either Python or VBA?
Even if you dont have complete solution, any help in the right direction would be highly appreciated.

Thanks
Harry

Hello,

I am also looking for a similar routine.

I need to Import the Test cases in Excel and Need to refresh them periodically as they Change.

Although I do not want to do the whole Import process every time.

A macro that does this can do Magic - saving time.

regards
Akshay
