Global configuration of work items

Postby Kascho » Fri Jan 29, 2016 11:35 am

Hi all, i have several projects in my repository. Now i want to have a new work item type for all of these projects. So i was trying to create it in the global administration page. This worked. I can see the configuration in the other projects.
But when i return to the project i can't choose them, when i try to create new items. This type is also not shown in the work item section.

So my question: How can i use global defined work items in already existing projects?

Old post already, but in case of:
For existing projects, probably you have WI types defined locally, check workitem-type-enum.xml in enumerations .
Then, you can remove the type definition at the project level, to inherit from global configuration.
But Warning, if you have project local types, you will lose them ( not ths instantiated WI, but the definition) . In this case, update the project types manually
