Polarion 2012 UI: Too much space wasted

Hi everybody,

anyone happy with the new UI? Especially the vertical space between workitem rows, menues, fields etc. is really annoying for our users. In the new UI we have to scroll/click much more while seeing less workitems/field than in the last release. While other features are really outstanding and usefull, the UI seems to ignore user needs even if they involved the stakeholder much more this time.

Hi Marc,

thanks for the feedback.

Actually the changes in the UI were proposed and tested by designers with a lot of usability testing and user-acceptance testing around.
While I'm doubling you that it seems less information than in previous release, it has significantly improved readability and less irritation/disturbing effects.
Also there is not less workitems/fields shown - because of hidding unnecessary panels and controls, generally you see the same amount of information on the screen as before, but potentially it could fit even more.

Best regards,
Nick

My first impression on Polarion (2010) was that it has a very nice GUI!
My first impression on 2012 was that the GUI has changed to the worst.

Ok, most things are a "you get used to it" issue (whitch doesn't mean that you like it).

But it's true that for example the table view wastes lot's of space because the lines are too high.
The space between the text of one line and the text of the line below is almost bigger than the hight of the letters themsleve.

Nonetheless it's more confusing because the line colour is not alternating anymore (between white and gray) - therefore it's more likely that you will mix up the lines...

But wiki and PDF is nicer than before - well done! :D :D
(except for tables generated by {workitem:...})
