Wiki Dropdownlist -get selection as variable

Postby Polly » Tue Jun 28, 2011 9:09 am

Within the Wiki I've efined several dropdownfields.
Now I'd like to reuse a value (choosen in a dropdown list - for example List of Time Points) in a query.
Simplified Example: The user chooses a time point (in the dropdownlist) and will automatically get all WI for the choosen timepoint.
How can I pass the selction of the user to the query?

Thanks

Hi,

you can set and read request parameters (URL parameters).

E.g. in Wiki page you want to display information for a specific team if team was selected in dropdown or by a link

For instance, here I read the team parameter, if team is not set, it shows 2 links, clicking on which may change rendering of the page

Code: Select all

#set($team = $request.getParameter("team"))
#if(!$team)
  *No team selected.*
    <a href="?team=teamX">Team X</a>
    <a href="?team=teamY">Team Y</a>
#end

Best regards,
Nick

If I reuse a parameter which was passed from one wiki page to another I can use it for example in a query and it works fine. But trying to export the wikipage content to a pdf document fails. How can I "publish" the parameter to the export mechanism?

Thanks for any hints

You can write the received request parameter to a session variable and in the page that generates the PDF read the session variable.
