Polarion as a CI system

Postby maver » Mon Aug 09, 2010 9:47 am

I am in search for a CI system for a nightly build.

Now I have some question about Polarion:
- Can Polarion represent the builds graphically?
- Can Polarion send error messages as e-mail?
- Can the project be built with Maven?
- Can still Plugins e.g. Checkstyle be added?

Hello Maver,

yes, nightly builds and support for CI is one of the features of Polarion ALM. You can configure arbitrary project build procedures, as many as you like and have them automatically invoked, results/errors reported by a configurable email notification and have the build results stored in a filesystem repository that you can browse via Polarion Web UI.

Building projects using Maven is the main setup that works out-of-the-box. It is also possible to add and configure your own Maven plugins to be used during the build procedure, as well as for project reports independent from nightly builds.

Configuring arbitrary build processes, like using Ant, Java scripting or completely custom scripts is also possible. Wherever your setup needs a special guidance, Polarion offers Professional Services to get you started and figure out the appropriate configurations for you. But generally you can get up and running easily yourself or with the basic help of Polarion's technical customer support.

You can see some of the UI features live on Polarion's test drive server: http://almdemo.polarion.com/polarion/#/ ... ary/builds
