Start Polarion job via Web Service

Postby mberhorst » Thu May 06, 2010 12:12 pm

Hallo everybody,

my question: Is it possible to execute a Polarion job via Web Service?
Or is there any other way to execute a Polarion job?
Would be great if someone can help me.

Thanks in advance.

regards
Michael

Hi Michael,

You can create plugin for Polarion which will run in the same JVM as Polarion and use the Open API to start a job.

See Polarion\polarion\SDK\examples\com.polarion.example.servlet for example of such plugin.

See javadoc Polarion\polarion\SDK\doc\javadoc\index.html for details about the API. Look for IJobService, IJobManager and IJob.

another way to execute a Polarion job is use schedule.xml (.polarion/jobs/schedule.xml)

read more in our help http://almdemo.polarion.com/polarion/he ... bs_new_job

Hello Chernikova,

I can not find the folder "com.polarion.example.servlet".
Our examples folder have got only:
com.polarion.example.commithook
com.polarion.example.importer
com.polarion.example.job
com.polarion.example.notificationCreator
com.polarion.example.portlet
com.polarion.example.workflow

May be it is the same as:
http://extensions.polarion.com/polarion ... nsion=PE-1

Or where can I find the example?

regards
Michael

Hi Michael,

Probably you can't find "com.polarion.example.servlet". because you use old version of Polarion (older than 2010).
Download new version 2010_RS1 and you can find com.polarion.example.servlet in Polarion_update/ALM/polarion/SDK/examples

About "Polarion Scripting" extension.
You can try to use it, but It is not certified or supported by Polarion Software. So I can't give you info about this extension.
