error while migrating from pvcs to svn server repository

Postby syedj2ee » Fri Sep 16, 2011 5:37 am

Hi folks,
I am getting repository is not exist error while migrating from pvcs to svn server repository location (https://ipaddress/svn/FinSuite).
svn-importer tool successfully created the dump files but svnadmin not copying the dump files to the remote repository location .
I would be great if any once could help me out in this regard.

Personally, I prefer to run the svnadmin load command myself to load the dump files created by the importer. Gives me better control over what is happening, and a separate log file for the load process.

Your problem is that either you or svnimporter have to use svnadmin, and not svn, to load the dump files. Unlike the svn client, svnadmin does not talk to URL's. You have to run it on the system where the archive repository lives, and give it a direct file path to where you want it loaded.

Good luck,
-Ken
