SVNImporter how to exclude CVS projects

Postby a379143 » Thu Jul 21, 2011 6:41 pm

I have certain projects that I want to ignore while importing a CVS repository into Subversion. I have tried using "global-ignores = bin bin\*" in config.cvs.properties which is used by SVNImporter. I am hoping there is a simple ignore or excluse option available by which I can accomplish this. Is there one? Thanks.

SVNImporter generally migrates one project at a time. If you have 10 separate projects you need to run it 10 times. And if there are a couple projects that you don't want to migrate, just don't run it for them.

The definition of a "project" is somewhat nebulous. It would be more accurate to say that every time you run svnimporter, it generated dump files which will generate one set of trunk, branches, and tags subdirectories, which is the subversion convention for representing development project. If you want your final result to contain more than one of theses trunk/branches/tags directories, you have to run the importer mutiple times.
