Hi,
the links are no longer valid because we changed the Polarion Version running on the server.
You can download svnimporter 2 here.

Hi Joe, the Java Heap Space error indicates that the settings are to low. Actually I doubt that you will be able to increase the value much without running into other errors. Maybe the project you are trying to migrate is just to big for svnimporter or there is another memory leak. Currently nobody ...

Hi,
did you try to run with the new java version without lowering the xmx/xms values?
The exception you got now is caused by too low settings of xmx/xms, you should increase it.
I guess setting both values to 256M should work.

Hi,
I don't think the problem is something that can be fixed by changing the StarTeam provider.
Lowering -xmx and -xms settings could solve the problem.
You also should try to use a more recent java version.

As far as I know the importer was only tested with PVCS 8.
You should try to install PVCS 8 on the client you are running the importer on.
I think accessing you archives with PVCS 8 should be no problem.

Hello,
there seems to be a problem with the persistence.
Usually this is caused by not using java 1.4.
If you don't use java 1.4 running the importer with java 1.4 should help.

Hi Jonathan,

unfortunately there is no Option to turn of processing of deleted files and I currently don't have time to spend on the project.
If you want to change it yourself, here is a description how to work with the source code of svnimporter2.

Benjamin

Hi Jonathan, I am not sure if the reported errors are the cause of the fatal error, but errors usually indicate that there is really something wrong. The warnings can happen from time to time, but if there are many warnings that also indicates a problem. Although svnimporter 1 run successfully the v...

Hi,
if I don't commit the changes they are not included in the build on the server...
The problem with the patterns was, that they expected a space as suffix of the action name.
The new build is running.

Hello, I think changing the regional settings of windows to use 24h time worked for some users. (Java expects 12h time to be ...AM/PM) Maybe you also could try svnimporter2, at the end of this thread there is some info. svnimporter2 wont have problems with the date format. Best Regards, Benjamin

Hello,
inside the installation folder of svnimporter there should be big files called full_dump_<timestamp>.txt.

You can import them into your subversion repository using the svnadmin load command.

Hello Chris, at first you have to check-out http://svn.polarion.org/repos/community/svnimporter/trunk Then you can either use maven 1 or eclipse to build the project. To build with maven run maven buildAll inside the build folder. To build with eclipse just import the projects and you should be able...

Hello, you could take a look at svnimporter2. It is not yet officially released, but it does a quite good job migrating from vss. You can get the latest build here . (Navigate to svnimporter and download svnimporter-0.5.1-dist.zip) It supports English and German version of VSS out-of-the-box, adding...

Hi,
seems I missed to remove a space from the delete action string...
It's quite difficult to be sure everything is working for you, my version of vss reports different action strings.
I created a new build again (some time ago, just forgot to reply).

Best Regards,
Benjamin
