Re: SVNImporter2 issues -pls help

Hi, I have implemented some fixes for svnimporter2 the last few weeks, including a workaround for the problem you described. You can download the new version here , use guest as username and polarion as password if you are asked for it. To be honest it has not been tested very well so, please don't ...

Re: SVN to SVN

Hi,
I don't thin svnimporter is the right framework to implement that.
You could take a look at this tool, it seems to do what you need.

Re: VSS SVNImporter and SVNImporter2

Hi,
you can get the tool here.
Important note: Run it with Java 1.4 otherwise it won't work.

Re: how to/Error while loading multiple dump files created

Hi, usually you should not convert your whole repository in one run of the migration tool. Running the importer for the whole repositories will only create the trunk, tags and branches folders once, normally you have this structure for each project. It's better to run the tool for each part of the r...

Re: Connect to Polarion from an external Java application

Hi Ande,
you can use the TrackerWebService.query* methods to get a list of work items.

Hi, problem is that the converter really processes each project separately. Changing the tool to create continuous revisions would be quite much effort. Actually I wouldn't say the repository is inconsistent, but I agree that the history is a bit unusual like that. Usually you will only look at the ...

Hi,
using one "d" means the day is at least one digit.
Days > 9 will be parsed fine.

Hi,
this could be a bug:
Probably the Importer doesn't always release the files retrieved from StarTeam after reading them.
If you are not using Windows, you could workaround the problem by increasing the open file limit of your operating system.

Hi,
to work around the problem, you could just replace the problematic tag names in the dumpfile created by svnimporter2.

Fixing it in the importer is possible too, but I fear this won't be done soon.

Hi, cvs2svn by tigris.org definitely does a "nicer" migration: For example tag creation will be split among several revisions with our importer. The actual data (history of files, content of tags and branches) should be the same. Unfortunately I can't tell how well the importer handles the...

Hi,
I am also interested in the source code of the changes.
We could integrate them to support old Starteam Versions out of the box.

Hi,
unfortunately I never encountered such an error before, but it seems the source of the problem is starteam.
Do you get this error for all projects or just one project?

Hello,
the error indicates that you are using Java 1.4, you will need Java 5 or later to run this build.
I guess it is possible to also provide a build that runs with Java 1.4, but it could take some time until this is fixed.

Hi Scott,
for you the easiest solution is to remove all the org.polarion.svnimporter.*provider projects expect org.polarion.svnimporter.pvcsprovider and org.polarion.svnimporter.svnprovider.
Like that you will only build the projects you need.

Hi,
unfortunately the importer is currently not actively developed, but you could implement the improvement yourself.
The project is Open Source.
