Re: Starteam->>SVN

Not without changing some of the code. It wouldn't be that hard to do, but it is such an obscure request I question the value of including it in the general feature set. The StarTeam revision numbers aren't going to be of any use when the StarTeam repository is dead and gone are they? You won't be g...

Re: PVCS pcli.exe

The importer almost always uses the command line utility provide by you existing respository vendor to retrieve information from the repository. Your PVCS documentation should tell you where this program can be found.

Re: Request Programming Interface not found

Well, the first problem is something that is happening inside the pcli program. That stack trace it is printing is a trace of the pcli program. There isn't much I can tell you about what is heppening there. If you can't figure it out from the manual or other sources, your last option is to calling t...

Re: CVS to SVN: Process stuck at a file

The use_only_last_revision_content option is one I've never worked with. What it does is suppress the actual revision contents for all revisions except the last one. I guess that means you keep all of the revision history and dates and authors and comments, but don't have any actual source contents ...

Re: VSS to SVN (Multiple dumps files into single repository)

Not sure what other advice I can give. The important setting is -Xmx parameter. The rest of them are used to tweak the garbage collection process and would only make sense to people who know a lot more than I do. My general rule of thumb is to keep doubling it until the migration actually works. Why...

Re: svn: File already exists: filesystem (starteam)

There really isn't a nightly build process. There are newer versions of the importer available. The first topic in this forum explains how you can check them out. But the main download page was recently changed so you can retrieve specific versions of the importer for different migration types. And ...

Re: PVCS to SVN - Repo Memory increase

I don't have any experience with PVCS. Doubling the size seems unusual, but not beyond reason. It could be that PVCS is using compression algorithms to reduce disk space requirements where svn is designed to optimize response time. Ideally, you want to locate the SVN repository, and run the migratio...

Re: pvcs to svn migration

I'm going to have to have a look at the dump file. If it isn't too large and you don't mind posting it in public, you can upload it to filebin.ca and include the hyperlink in a response on this thread. Otherwise send me a private message and I'll tell you how you can email it to me.

Good luck,

Re: VSS to SVN (Multiple dumps files into single repository)

Hi Monty, I'm afraid that isn't going to work for a couple reasons. The big one is that revisions in different branches will be assigned revision numbers out of sequence. I'm not sure exactly what that would do, but I for one would not want to risk it. There is a way to tell the importer to break th...

Re: Problem: DEBUG Exec:80 - Process exit value: -1072365564

The VSS migration is the one that I'm not really familiar with. There is a newer version of the importer that has been rewritten to do a better job with VSS migrations. If you aren't using that one, look in the first topic on this forum (about MKS and other support) for details on how to download it...

Re: Starteam->>SVN

Subversion does assign revision numbers consecutively, but subversion revisions numbers are unique across the entire repository. Which is another way of saying that every subversion commit of every file (or set of files) will be give a new revision number. This is very different from every other RCS...

Re: Umlaut in PVCS metadata

Good question. I assume you are using some flavor of Windows. My guess is that you are going to have to figure out what character the Windows box is using and either change it to something reasonable, or set the svnimpoter log encoding to match it. I'm not familiar with Windows, and some google brow...
