Re: PVCStoSVN - Error in SVN dump Load

That's a puzzle. You weren't by any chance running the migration twice on the same subversions repository were you? It failed so early that I can't think of anything else that would cause this. The svnadmin import will construct everything it needs to import the migrated repository. You would get th...

Re: PVCS to SVN importer

My guess is that the svn repository was created, but you aren't looking for it the right way. The right way is to use the svn client info or checkout commands to view the repository. Svn tortoise has a GUI repository browser, see if you can find it there. If that doesn't work. Try using svnadmin to ...

Re: StarTeam Exception

You need to find a starteamNN.jar file somewhere in your Starteam folders. Copy that to svnimporter lib directory and rename it to starteam80.jar. More than likely, it will complain about a missing DLL file, but it will be a dll file that you can find.

Good luck,

Re: starteam to svn - unknown branch exception

I think I tracked this down. The only way it can happen is if a name has been assigned to the trunk development path, probably something that only the starteam provider does. A revision on the main path with child labels will crash unless The trunk only option is set, or The ignore labels option is ...

Re: Trunk only import failing

The importer succeeded in building the dump file, but svnadmin ran into trouble loading it. When I saw this happening in MKS migrations, it turned revision chains with out of sequence timestamps. the importer created revisions and sorted them by timestamp, resulting in svnadmin trying to post a modi...

Re: Java Heap Space error Clearcase to Subversion

Try increasing the memory limit some more. Big migrations need Gigabytes of memory. Of course I only run these on some big mainframe computers that really have that much physical memory. I don't know how it would fare on a PC.

Re: Clearcase import trunk issue

Hey, thanks for looking into this? But I think the code is working as it was intended to. It is a normal subversion convention implement development branches as subdirectories under /branches/. The main path is located in /trunk/, and historical checkpoints are implemented as subdirectories in /tags...

Re: PVCS to SVN - login account was unable to obtain a license

Sounds like you don't have the right user & password in the config.properties file. If that doesn't fix it, see if you can run the command pcli run -> listfiles.txt -q listversionedfiles -pr <projectpath> -id <user>:<password> If you can get that command to work, svnimporter should work. Good lu...

Re: CC to SVN duplicated id

You can only get that error if you are running an incremental migration, which I have never tried and will never recommend. Someday I need to pull out that logic so people won't ask me why it doesn't work :( When you run the importer, the first argument passed to the program should be 'full' and not...

Re: SVNImporter wont migrate PVCS repo to a existing trunk??

Migrate the two repositories to two different subdirectories in your svn project, say PROJA and PROJB. This leaves you with a directory structure that looks like root PROJA trunk branches tags PROJB trunk branches tags After successfully running both migrations, you can use the svn mv subcommand to ...

Re: VSS to SVN (Multiple dumps files into single repository)

The importer just wasn't designed to work that way. The expectation is that you would migrate everything at once. Otherwise the revision dates are going to get all out of sequence. The first dump file that you load will get assigned the earlier revision numbers and the second one will get later revi...

Re: Converting VSS labels to SVN tags during migration

Starting with the obvious, does the C:/Repositories/DataInterfaceModules2 repository already exist when you try to run the import. If it does, you can try replacing your forward / separators with the windows standard backslash \ separators. Shouldn't make a difference, Java usually does the conversi...

Re: not working under windows 7

The good news is that the importer had finished doing pretty much everything it needed to do and failed while trying to clean up working files and directories. You could skip that logic by setting the config.properties disable_cleanup=true setting. It turns out that you ran into an old bug that reve...

Re: VSS to SVN svnadmin: File not found: transaction '5-5'

No, this is a different problem. The dump file(s) have been generated and we are running svnadmin to import the dump files into a new repository. You can check out what is happening by running svnadmin yourself. The importers job is basically done at this point and it is just running utilities that ...

Re: Cannot

There is a pcvs.executable setting in your config.properties file that tells the svnimporter what to run for the PVCS command line utility. This program exists somewhere in your PVCS installation. When you find it, change the pcvs.executable setting to include a absolute path pointing to the program...
