Re: Manually commit WorkItems

Hello Tobias, this might work, but it's an absolutely dirty way (and not even quick at all)! You better use the Polarion Webservice API to communicate with Polarion via SOAP. Information about the Webservice API can be found in Polarion's SDK documentation. First steps might be a bit hard when you t...

Re: Scripting Extension Basic Hello World

Hello Michael, You don't have to "return" the result because your script is not "called". Just write your result (true or false) to a variable and put this variable in the last line of your script, e.g.: var returnValue=false; // some code if(someCondition=fulfilled) returnValue=...

Re: Displaying categories and custom fields of a WI

Hello, .getCategories() returns an IPObjectList which can contain several objects, each representing a single category. You have to iterate over this IPObjectList and output the required property of each category individual. Your custom field is accessible either with method getCustomField() or getV...

Re: Workitem ID in red font color

Hello Thomas, you just have to reduce the severity of the red Workitems :-) This is a (not documented) feature of Polarion. Workitems with a red ID indicate a high severity. When you reduce the severity the ID becomes black. I don't know if this behaviour is configurable - haven't found anything nei...

Re: How to get link both role names using the WebService API

Hello Dirk, what you get via WebService is the Id of the defined link role (="parent"). "has parent" is the "name"-attribute and "is parent of" is the "opositeName"-attribute of the defined link role. Those attributes are AFAIK not accessible via Web...

Re: [Wiki] Duplicate a document to another space

Hello Jbod,

replace

Code: Select all

#set ($array1 = [])
#set ($array2 = [])

by

Code: Select all

#set ($array1 = $objectFactory.newSet())
#set ($array2 = $objectFactory.newSet())

and it works.

Kind regards

Re: [Wiki] Duplicate a document to another space

Hello Jbod, If you try to duplicate a document within a Wiki page and without a transaction you definitely get an error Invocation of method 'duplicate' in class $IModuleManager_14c4998ad6d threw exception class com.polarion.platform.persistence.WrapperException : com.polarion.subterra.persistence.P...

Re: Export Word document without round-trip features

Hello Scott, when you are looking for a editable Word document which looks like the document you created in Polarion's document editor, the answer is no. You can export a document (in WYSIWYG mode) either as PDF or as Round Trip Document (with the mentioned restrictions). But there's another word ex...

Re: [Wiki] Duplicate a document to another space

Hello Jbod,

is your wiki code embedded in a transaction? At least the line with the .duplicate method should be surrounded by

Code: Select all

$transactionService.beginTx()
and

Code: Select all

$transactionService.commitTx()

Combine multiple Documents to a single PDF export

Hello, I've got a couple of Documents that need to be exported as PDF document but I don't want to export each and every Document as a single PDF. I'd like to have all Documents combined into a single PDF document. ⋅ Exporting the documents separately and combining them afterwards via a PD...

Re: How to display diferent values in a combo

Hello Daniel,

yes, with Polarion 2014 it's possible to configure dependencies between custom enumeration fields. So it should be possible to set up such a configuration.

Re: Calculation with Enumerations

Hello Kascho, I don't think that this is possible with Polarion "out of the box". But it is possible to do so if you install the FMC Work Item Save extension. With this extension you can implement a pre-save hook which reads the selected values of your enumeration, does any kind of calcula...

Re: Wiki - Calculate custom dates for query, how?

If you like to query for workitems which where created 7 days ago you can use something like

Code: Select all

#set($wis = $trackerService.queryWorkItems("created:[$today - 7d$ TO $today - 7d$]","id"))

You don't have to calculate the exact date in advance.

Hello Florian,

granting access to a certain user group does not automaticallly deny access for all other user groups.
If you want to limit access to a certain group of users you must deny access to all other users in addition.

Re: Can't find the document field for a WI

Hello Dennis, getWorkItemById() is a function in the TrackerWebService! By looking at your code I assume you are not using the Webservice interface. Therefore you can't use functions from the TrackerWebService. You have to use the ITrackerService class. There's a method getWorkItem(java.lang.String ...
