Re: Installation on a new machine (data migration)

I assume here, you have some basic idea of the folder structure of Polarion, else it will be very difficult to explain that. The clean way for SVN is to to an export of the old one and an import into the new one. But there is a possible shortcut: You can copy the repo folder, plus the files access a...

Re: LiveReport page - Anchor tags reloading same page

Hello, Simon

could you check if the same behavior is done also with a different browser?

Re: Approval Process Work Item Statuses

We are doing it manually. I don't think it can be done in Polarion without programming something.

But of course you could create a wiki page that at least checks the work item state of a document semi-automatically.

Re: Is there any way to exclude certain lines to be logged in the main log4j?

Hi, Steff Polarion is basically using log4j for writing log files, so everything that is available there should also be possible with Polarion. First thing you could try of course is reducing the LogLevel. But probably you want to have something more sophisticated, so I looked around and found this:...

Re: Approval Process Work Item Statuses

I think the built-in approval process has nothing do to with the status field. They cannot be combined easily. We do it in a way that for document approval all work items must be in the state "reviewed" (which is our final state). But it is handled completely separated. For the work item c...

Re: Workflow automatization

AFAIK this is not possible per default. I think there is no dependency at all between document state and work item state, same with approval. My personal assumption is, that document state/approval is rather meant as an alternative to work item state/approval, not really depending on each other.

Re: write baseline queries results permantly

Hi, JF my first question would be: How often do you delete the Polarion cache that this is a problem and why? But from the beginning: You have some SQL queries which are using baselines for data analysis. As you are using baselines, the results should always be the same. Why do you need to re-execut...

Re: Document Scrolls to End

I cannot tell which versions were possible with that release. Check the file "readme.html" of your latest installation to get the browser info.

Maybe you could try another browser to see if that works better.

Re: Document Scrolls to End

We also had some strange effects in document handling, but they all heavily depend on your Polarion version, the used browsers and sometimes even the browser version. So the best idea probably is trying a different browser. Maybe you also want to check which browsers in which version are supported b...

Re: Is it possible to get hostname in Velocity Template Language?

As far as I know, the Live Report pages can include sections with classic wiki scripting, so there should be no difference. But I have never tried that.

Re: Is it possible to get hostname in Velocity Template Language?

There is a globally available variable $logredir, which at least contains the URL, maybe this already helps.

The value will not be shown correctly in preview mode of a wiki page.

It could also be possible with java script.

Re: How to show document properties in the side bar by default?

Well, I can't tell you for document properties, but with trial and error I managed to use the following statements in the address line:

?sidebar=attachments
?sidebar=comments

Maybe for the others you just have to guess the right name.

Re: Restricted Access: Only to one Polarion Project

Hi I have checked the Polarion help because I knew that something was noted there. It contains the following statement: Note that login permission is tied to the user role and will not work if assigned to other roles... watcher, for example. My conclusion: it will not work to create another role tha...
